Why I Refuse to Vote for Mitt Romney (or Obama)

This article nails what I have been speaking about and feeling since this race took shape. The exert below is from the commentary linked.
Neither the Democratic nor the Republican candidate in this race is trustworthy or desirable as a leader. Obama is a left-leaning technocrat who habitually breaks his promises and is eager to assume near dictatorial powers in the realm of national security. He has little regard for the Constitution or the recklessness of the precedents that he's setting. And Romney? He's a right-leaning technocrat who unapologetically breaks his promises, is eager to assume near dictatorial national security powers, and has little regard for the Constitution. Each of these men would have you believe that it is imprudent to trust the other. Yet if their opponent wins, each is on record affirming that he is empowered to spy, detain and kill in secret, and to wage war without Congress. Given their willingness to confer those extreme powers, how deep can their mistrust really be?

Spring Cleaning & Your Personal Safety

As noted in the newsletter today, the forums have been cleaned and arranged in an easy to find way. There will be a new direction for 2012 where the focus is on discussion and writing. The reality is that forums are evolving and have lost membership to social media sites such as Facebook.

There is one problem with Facebook and others like it, your name is on it. Everything that you do, say or post is directly linked to you. Go for a job interview and run the risk that your new employer finds out something that can get you fired or worse yet, not hired for a job position that you are a perfect fit for. So this leads to the question, why forums.

Forums unlike Facebook provide anonymity. You can still post your funny pics, your friends can see them and comment, you can still express your opinion but the difference is that your avatar and member name isn't a picture of your face and your name. So regain some of that safety and join this forum or others out there and express yourself. Let loose and go crazy and do it all with some safety for your personal privacy.

Can you forecast a potential heart attack?

Apparently there are signs that can occur prior to a heart attack. Read the article linked below that discusses some possible signs that a heart attack is shortly around the corner. As with anything posted in the health section, it doesn't take the place of a doctor's examination and is strictly presented for you to review. Ask your doctor about ways that this may pertain to you.

10 Subtle Heart Attack Symptoms

Let us know if there has been someone in your family who has experienced similar symptoms prior to a heart attack.

What are your views on freedom and civil liberties around the world?

Almost twenty years ago, a family friend returned from a trip to Europe and Russia. Upon returning, this person mentioned that a friend of his in Russia had made the observation that the USA was heading towards a more repressive form of government while it seemed that the USSR was going more in the direction of a democracy. Of course over time we saw the fall of the Berlin wall and the transformation of the USSR.

Closer to home we have seen the restrictions of person privacy in the name of security. We have FEMA building "housing centers" around the country in the event an emergency requires that large numbers of people need to be relocated which some consider to be retraining centers. We at TLC don't try and push one idea as the correct understanding but rather post information for discussion so that people can draw their own conclusions.

Check out some of our posting and join the discussion.
